    In the wake of UCAS figures revealing 2012 applications are down by 7.7 per cent on last year, specialist digital agency Nomensa is today warning that UK universities are missing vital applicants by failing to treat prospective students as online consumers.

  • Nomensa speaking at W3C conference

    Nomensa’s Director of Accessibility, Léonie Watson has been asked by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to speak at their latest conference.

    Léonie will be attending the event in Berlin to speak about the business approach to HTML5.  She’ll be outlining the challenges of moving toward HTML5 and using key case studies to explain the benefits.

    Léonie joins Michael Smith, the W3C team member responsible for HTML5 who is also speaking.

    Léonie Watson, Nomensa’s Director of Accessibility, joins the Insight Radio Tech Talks programme, the channel’s inclusive technology show.

    Léonie  will join host Steven Scott and Robin Spinks from RNIB discussing Windows 8 accessibility, the benefits of Android over iPhone and a live test of what's supposed to be the app to change the lives of visually impaired smartphone users!

  • Nomensa working with UCL to assist in development of digital strategy

    Ranked seventh in the World’s top ten universities, University College London’s (UCL) website must effectively support the thousands of visitors it has each year.  UCL has commissioned Nomensa to conduct extensive user research to assist in the creation of a long term digital strategy to ensure website users are effectively supported.

    This new ISO standard, known as PDF/UA for short, is aimed at software developers and provides a clear set of rules for ensuring PDF electronic documents and forms are accessible. Our Director of Accessibility, Léonie Watson, was part of the UK committee supporting the US team who were responsible for the standard.
