The Challenge
After commissioning Nomensa to redesign their website, Dacorum looked to Nomensa to support them in continually meeting their web accessibility targets. It was of key importance that a plan was established to ensure that regular quality assurance checks could take place and a clear accessibility strategy was established.
The Process
Nomensa put a Quality Assurance Programme in place to run accessibility testing on Dacorum’s website every three months. The testing looks at compliance to the Double-A standard of the Web Accessibility Initiative’s (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 1.0 set out by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Once the check is completed Nomensa provide Dacorum with access to an online fault tracking system showing insights and solutions for every accessibility issue identified.
The benefit of this service is that Nomensa become an extension of the Dacorum team, on hand to answer queries and monitor the correction of issues.
