Challenge
Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is an internationally recognised and successful charity for the blind. Nomensa were asked to review the current site's content before redeveloping the site's information architecture, focusing closely on the development of wireframes to demonstrate detailed customer journeys. Nomensa were also asked to develop a technical and functional specification for the procurement of Guide Dogs for the Blind Association’s new content management system (CMS).
Process
Nomensa created a highly intuitive and user-centred navigation for the new Guide Dogs for the Blind Association site as a result of the completion of in-depth stakeholder interviews, card sorting and a content and accessibility review. These exercises allowed Nomensa to provide Guide Dogs for the Blind Association with detailed taxonomies and wireframes to support the creation of a navigation system which reflected the desired journeys of the site's users.
Other aspects of Nomensa's work saw the completion of a technical and functional specification for the procurement of a fully accessible CMS tailored to support the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association website.
Outcomes
Nomensa's work with the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association has delivered a fully accessible, intuitive and user-centred navigation for the new site. As well as providing the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association team with a wealth of support and knowledge, Nomensa has continued to offer tangible recommendations throughout the implementation of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association CMS process.
