Nomensa worked closely with us to develop an efficient and effective website that will help us communicate well with all our stakeholders.

1 Challenge

Nomensa’s previous success working on the Haringey website meant that Homes for Haringey built on this existing relationship. Haringey Council were in the process of developing an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) to deliver a significant improvement of housing services.  With no existing web presence at that time, Homes for Haringey identified a need to set up a first class website to meet this objective.

The key focus was to raise the profile of Homes for Haringey in its own right for it to be distinctive from the Council’s main website. The aim was to achieve a lively and professional web presence that meets both the current and perceived future needs of all its service users. Activities such as online surveys, consultations and the use of e-forms were required.  The templates needed to be integrated into the Haringey Council content management system.

2 Process

As part of the design phase, Nomensa undertook stakeholder interviews to fully capture design requirements and ensure expectations were exceeded. From this profiling, two storyboard designs were delivered and images sourced for use on the website, providing Haringey with a good range of choice from the outset.

The functionality requirements were managed and developed to enable the efficient provision of information to the target audiences: tenants, residents, community groups.  Card sorting was undertaken to assist the information architecture and enhance applicable user journeys.

Fully accessible templates were then created and integrated into Obtree C4 Content Management System.  Nomensa provided a full Quality Assurance Programme for the website and comprehensive guidance on template integration.

3 Outcomes

Website information architecture was developed to meet requirements specified in the ALMO documentation provided by Haringey. This project saw a brand new online presence serving as an efficient and user friendly source of information for the local community.
