I've worked with Nomensa on a number of projects; all with the aim of helping us better understand accessibility issues and raise the standard across all our websites.
Nomensa has ensured that our newly redesigned website reached double-A of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. Their work was invaluable and we felt that the web development was in safe hands with Nomensa stepping in at each stage. It is a pleasure to work with Nomensa. They offer realistic solutions to accessibility issues, and their clear reporting and approachable meeting style mean the results are easy to understand and implement.

Challenge
Macmillan Cancer Support, a well respected charity for the support of cancer sufferers, came to Nomensa with numerous accessibility requirements.
Macmillan wanted to extend their reach to the widest possible audience. To achieve this goal Macmillan requested that a number of their online offerings were audited for how they currently fared in terms of accessibility against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This included assessing the accessibility of their homepage, the site's e-commerce area and the organisation's newsletter, Exchange.
Expert usability advice was also sought to improve their website, with the aim of making it easy for the site's visitors to complete their online goals.
Process
To gain an understanding of the website's current user experience Nomensa conducted a user experience review across several storyboards, helping ensure that Macmillan's users could easily and effectively complete their online goals. Therefore, any accessibility and usability issues identified at the early stages of development were resolved.
Nomensa continued to help develop the Macmillan site, reviewing Macmillan's developed site templates to ensure when implemented they would provide a website boasting a clear, flexible and intuitive layout that is fully accessible.
Outcomes
Macmillan enjoys an ongoing relationship with Nomensa. Many accessibility projects have been completed, each providing the Macmillan team with a wealth of knowledge and new skills to help ensure accessibility compliance. The Macmillan Cancer Support website now benefits from a greater audience reach and a more enjoyable online experience for each and every visitor.
