Postal Services Commission

We are very pleased with the new Postcomm website, designed and built by Nomensa. The good, clear advice and practical support that Nomensa gave us made all the difference in ensuring the success of the new website.

1 Challenge

Postcomm, the independent regulator of postal services, wished to transform a non-compliant website into a new visually-striking communication channel to meet the needs of a growing group of customers and the government guidelines for web accessibility.

Leading up to market deregulation, Postcomm needed to communicate clearly with a diverse range of stakeholders. Providing an accessible and usable experience was paramount to the site's success.

2 Process

Nomensa worked with Postcomm to provide an intuitive and engaging experience for its users, and an intuitive content management system (CMS) for Postcomm's content editors.

By conducting a number of usability studies, including usability testing, the new Postcomm website is a highly user-centric, fully accessible website that allows Postcomm's stakeholders to efficiently complete their online goals.

Defacto CMS provides Postcomm with a system that allows content editors to maintain their high level of accessibility, through easy to use, intuitive functionality that prompts content editors to create and maintain accessible content.

3 Outcomes

The new Postcomm website was launched in time for the market opening, and with continuous user experience developments, the website continuously strives to better serve its visitors. Year-on-year to October 2007, the site experienced a 112% increase in unique visitors, demonstrating that more and more people are turning to the Postcomm website for postal services information.
