When we set out to upgrade the website, our ultimate aim was to have the best College website in Scotland, so I'm thrilled to have received a Gold award. I'm delighted the judges recognised the usability, friendliness and interactive features of our site as worthy of gold. Our user figures for the website have been growing month on month, we are delighted

Challenge
Stevenson College Edinburgh is one of the largest colleges in Scotland offering a wide variety of courses to its 15,600 students.
Stevenson approached Nomensa requiring an accessible content management system (CMS) that would help them increase their website's functionality and to serve the students and staff in an accessible and usable environment.
The Process
To achieve an accessible, innovative and high quality website that provides first rate user experience, Nomensa created designs that were strong, colourful and inspirational. It was also essential that they worked in harmony with Stevenson's strong brand image.
Nomensa translated the new designs into accessible templates before integrating them into the fully accessible Defacto CMS. Defacto was customised to allow Stevenson to constantly keep the look and feel of the website fresh and up-to-date. Stevenson also benefit from having access to all the latest developments on the Defacto platform.
Outcomes
Having an accessible CMS allowed the website to be user-centred and support audience goals; students and staff are therefore able to fulfil their online goals with ease and efficiency. Stevenson's editors are prompted through Defacto to create accessible content, maintaining the highest level of accessibility. Since launch in 2007, Stevenson has asked Nomensa to develop a variety of additional customised functions for further engagement of its existing and prospective students.
In February 2008, the Stevenson website won the Gold award in the Scottish Further Education Unit (SFEU) Marketing Awards.
