Accessibility - making the business case
Continuing its commitment to best-practice web accessibility, digital communications agency JKD this week hosted a free seminar, "Accessibility - making the business case".
The seminar followed a recent announcement by JKD of its partnership with usability and accessibility experts Nomensa.
With the increasing profile of accessibility issues and the conflicting reports about the consequences of non-compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (1995), many organisations are considering redeveloping their websites.

explained Mark Gristock, JKD Marketing Director.
The seminar aimed to highlight the benefits of incorporating sophisticated usability methodology throughout the development process of your website. We believe that accessibility shouldn’t be a specific skill, it should be a core component of your business.

Rebecca Salt, Head of Marketing and PR for one of the world’s largest supply chain providers Exel, gave a presentation detailing the accessibility challenge faced by Exel and the benefits gained from these changes.
Continuing this theme, Nomensa’s Managing Director, Simon Norris, spoke about making websites easy to use first time, every time by designing around human behaviour.
We were pleased to see such a good turn out at the seminar", concluded Gristock. "Accessibility is not just the right thing to do; it also makes good business sense. Communicating effectively with the widest target audience should be the goal of all web projects.
