Local Directgov has contracted Nomensa, specialists in online accessibility and usability to offer Local Authorities a telephone and email helpdesk service to
support their quest to increase citizen take up of Local Authority
online services.
The advice and information service is available across the country Monday to Friday 9:00hrs to 18:00 hrs and is staffed by Nomensa experts in online usability and accessibility.
Key issues that will be addressed by the expert taskforce include: accessibility and usability guidance; technical information; advice on PO targets and practical examples of good practice implementations.

"With the launch of this helpdesk service, Local Directgov brings together the benefits and knowledge gained from four years of the Local e-Gov Programme to provide good practice guidelines that will be delivered to customers in a clear and tangible way."
An online support system and weekly email updates will also be provided to encourage the knowledge sharing, keeping Local Authority webmasters in constant communication with one another, offering hot tips, help and support.
