The Sponsors of this year’s IVCA Clarion Awards have been commended by Joan Ruddock MP.

Joan Ruddock MP, Minister for Climate Change, has announced her support for the Clarions and commended the sponsors of the awards:

This year’s shortlist of over 70 nominees includes: the forthcoming Leonardo DiCaprio climate change film, The 11th Hour; actor and comedian Alistair McGowan for his ongoing commitment to sustainable development issues; The Royal Navy for their film on the Abolition of Slavery; WWF for their film One Planet Living and the Child Exploitation Online Protection Centre for their work in ensuring the safety of young internet users.

The winners will be announced at the award ceremony at the BFI Southbank (formerly the National Film Theatre) on the 28th September to a capacity audience of leading figures from business, government and the arts.

The Clarion Awards are the leading award scheme of their kind and unique in their recognition of the best ethical and effective communications from all areas of media, whether corporate communications, feature film, performing arts or television and radio.

The 2007 awards received the greatest number of entries since the scheme was launched at Parliament five years ago with 42 awards being presented across 14 categories.
