A broadband service dedicated to golfers has been launched, providing coaching and lessons online.

It follows the developing trend for sporty broadband connections, with football clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea offered specialised broadband connections.

The Professional Golfers Association (PGA) broadband will be giving users a unique twist to their Internet experience, as the broadband market gets increasingly competitive.

Viatel is behind the development of PGA broadband, set to launch in mid November.

"Together we will lead the way in the provision of broadband services bundled with unique and exclusive golf content from a brand that golfers know and trust," said chief executive of Viatel, Lucy Woods.

The service will order live and on-demand content with almost TV broadcast standard video, newsfeeds, interviews with golfing professionals, travel deals, test drives of new clubs as well as coaching tips.
