A new website has been created to provide online access to information on how public and private sectors are combating climate change.
The online pages contain details of the government pledge to offset carbon dioxide emissions from central government air travel and the UK presidency of G8 and the EU.
It also offers regular updates of the progress of the government and private companies as well as simple explanations of initiatives being taken within the offsetting sector.
The website will also act as a central portal to direct visitors to offsetting companies.
It aims to make it easier for companies wishing to take voluntary measures to cut emissions to locate relevant companies and information.
The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs was responsible for collating and putting the information online.
