Accessing the Internet for online banking services is set to rise ten times within the next decade, according to research commissioned by cahoot.
Cahoot claims Internet banking has been revolutionised in the last five years, with more and more women going online. The middle-aged suburban mother or father has also become the typical web surfer, according to reports from the website, finextra.com.
The Internet and online banking services have ceased being the domain of the young with the majority who monitor their finances on the web aged between 35-44 years old.
Those in the 55-64 age bracket are also getting more web savvy with 60 per cent now regular surfers and 50 per cent preferring to bank online.
The report, as reported by finextra.com, goes on to predict that one in four will bank online by 2010, which is a rapid increase compared to the four per cent banking via the web in 1999.
