A group of over 50s have tested out Hammersmith and Fulham Council's new interactive website and given it the thumbs up.

Representatives from the Better Government for Older People (GGOP) have rated the site's content, design and on-line service, according to the website 24dash.com.

The website was re-launched last week having been completely revamped with new and more user-friendly areas for local businesses, residents and visitors.

The Easymap feature where you can send a visiting friend a map to your home won particular praise.

Member of the BGOP, Bette Simpson, said: "I think it's a really good, lively site. It will be useful in checking times of things like bin collections as well as keeping up with local news."

Council leader Stephen Burke promises the site has something to offer everyone, from parents looking for childcare to people moving into the area.

"There's been a silent revolution going on as using a computer is no longer only the preserve of the young," he concluded.
