Information on how to get the most out of your local community hall is now available online.
The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has now launched an information hub called "Community Halls for Rural People" on its website.
Rural areas can access the site to find out about the various funding opportunities available to improve their community hall facilities.
"Successful village halls provide an impressive range of services and activities to meet the needs of their local communities, such as health services and sports, as well as the traditional social pursuits," commented rural affairs minister Jim Knight.
"Making the local village hall a success can be a big challenge, which requires not only imagination and commitment, but also practical advice.
"Defra's new web resource will help, by improving access to essential information from all over the country," he added.
The site creates a central information point for all community hall-related queries and provides links to 38 rural community councils who can provide further advice concerning the management of rural community buildings.
