An international conference will next week look into encouraging the roll out of new IT services and products for individuals with hearing, mobile and visual disabilities.

The 'Wireless Accessibility Workshop' is to be staged at what will be the world's largest wireless trade show, CTIA Wireless 2005, with representatives from the UK and Europe expected to attend.

Previewing the event, Steve Largent, president and CEO of CTIA commented: "In 21 short years, this industry has advanced the technology and lowered its price so that all consumers - regardless of where they live, the language they speak, or what disabilities they may face - can enjoy the convenience and safety provided by wireless technology.

"CTIA and its member companies remain committed to providing accessible wireless services for all consumers and look forward to this opportunity to meet again with the Disabilities Community and discuss how together we can continue to provide innovative new services for those with hearing, mobile and visual disabilities."
