Responding to the demands of business to have access to council Internet services 24 hours a day East Riding of Yorkshire Council is providing a comprehensive area for businesses on its website.

The council has added several areas to its website reflecting the increased use of the Internet by business as a tool for increasing efficiency and accessing information quickly and easily.

Additions to the site include an area for licences which range from keeping wild animals to private hire vehicles, that can be applied and paid for on-line.

Also included is a directory of business accommodation located throughout the East Riding and at our Business Centres, which also provide a wide range of support and advice.

To drive business an area on information on our procurement policies has been included with information on how to find out about contract opportunities with the council as a major purchaser of supplies, services and works.

Adrian Shaw, principal business services officer at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "The new site is a clear demonstration of technology at its best, providing accurate, concise information for businesses, 24 hours a day all year round."

The council vows to respond to future business demands and adapt the website accordingly.© DeHavilland Information Services plc
