As part of the Institute of Public Policy Research's (IPPR) Manifesto for a Digital Britain, the organisation is calling for online submissions of ideas.

The IPPR will launch its manifesto in July and will influence the government's future policies on how digital technologies, especially the net, can improve life in Britain for everyone.

The move differs form previous calls for advice, as it wants the ideas of everybody and anybody.

"We hear too much from the futurists and technology experts," Will Davies, senior research fellow at the IPPR, told the BBC.

"Successful technology strategies depend on listening to the public and those who have to use new tools on a day-to-day basis."

The questions posed on the IPPR weblog include how the UK can get better at e-government, and e-politics and how technology can make work life better and more flexible.© DeHavilland Information Services plc
