London has received a new online resource for residents, visitors and businesses in the city.

YourLondon- the official online guide to London's public and community services - went online on the 25th April 2005.

Led by the London Connects partnership the portal joins together all of London's public and community services in a bid to establish a "stronger, richer dialogue with the community".

The guide covers all 33 boroughs of London and links over 6000 information sites relating to London public and community services.

The first phase of the application includes an on-line directory of information about London's community and voluntary sector organisation, a location based tool that enables you to locate services such as their nearest GP or post-office and a comprehensive London Public Sector job search facility.

Further phases of the development hope to include a database of public events in London, e-forms for such things as parking appeals and planning applications and a 3D "Virtual London" showcasing proposed building plans and tourist routes and attractions.© DeHavilland Information Services plc
