According to Stephen Coleman of the Oxford Internet Institute the most interesting phenomenon of this election is the prevalence of online blogs.
Hundreds of online bloggers, from party candidates to journalists and political pundits
have been commenting on the ups and downs of the election.
"I think this is probably the most interesting phenomenon of this election," Mr Coleman told Reuters.
"This is a low level form of entry into politics. The key thing about blogs is that they are grass roots and somewhat subterranean.
"The party websites are extremely technocratic and centralised. The blogs are more what people were hoping would come out of the Internet."© DeHavilland Information Services plc
