A new online scheme has been launched with the intention of keeping farmers updated on various important health and safety issues.
The Health and Safety Executive's (HSE's) agriculture e-mail bulletin is aimed at farmers, trade unions and associations, farm managers and land owners and will be sent quarterly to subscribers, free of charge.
News on topical issues and links to more in depth health and safety information will be included in the e-bulletins.
Outlining the reasons behind the new service, Chris Molde, of the HSE's Agriculture and Food Sector, said: "More and more farmers are accessing the Internet. We have launched the Agriculture E-bulletin as it's an effective means of communicating information quickly.
"As well as informing those in agriculture about current health and safety issues, we'll also use the E-bulletin to remind farmers about seasonal safety issues, such as precautions to take when crop spraying or harvesting."
The E-bulletin has 500 subscribers signed up already.© DeHavilland Information Services plc
