The second International Conference on Special Education is now underway in Brunei with organisers hoping for a similarly successful turnout as registered at the inaugural event.
This year's conference entitled "Our Children, Our Future: Global Approaches" was officially opened yesterday by the country' Minister of Education Pehin Dato Hj Abd Rahman.
The conference aims to provide ideas and new ways of thinking in relation to current policies, procedures and practices of special education around the globe.
Assistive IT technology will forge a major part of the conference, as will issues such as inclusive education and transition programmes.
The conference is being organised by the Special Education Unit of the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the University of Brunei Darussalam.
Experts, researchers and practitioners from Britain and the US are expected to be in attendance.© DeHavilland Information Services plc
