The city of Manchester is fast becoming one of the UK's most advanced online regions thanks to continued e-government and Internet improvement schemes.
According to Internet service provider UKFast, the online status of the northern city has been enhanced rapidly during the past nine years.
Testament to this is a recent study that has revealed Manchester is now second only to London in terms of accessibility and both residential and corporate Internet penetration.
The city has also been named as the third most influential business city in Europe as a result of its blossoming Internet capabilities.
Managing director at UKFast Lawrence Jones told Web Host directory that Internet improvements have greatly helped encourage businesses to move to Manchester.
"Companies across the UK are realising what Manchester has to offer," he said.
"Internet options have diversified and London has been slow to respond. We get calls everyday from businesses desperate for quality of service at a price the capital struggles to offer."
Mr Jones added: "Manchester really is the best place in Europe for a start-up to thrive and for two great reasons; the city and its online expertise."© DeHavilland Information Services plc
