Police relations with the West Midlands public is being dynamically improved today through an innovative foray into live discussion forums.
Chief superintendents Andy Armstrong and Gareth Cann have both taken to the Internet to communicate with residents and listen to their concerns and points of view.
The live discussion forum is taking place all afternoon and will be the first time the West Midlands force has partaken in such an e-initiative.
The two police chiefs have said that they share high hopes for the scheme.
Chief Superintendent Armstrong, commander at Wednesfield police station, said: "This is an innovative way for us to speak to local people and hopefully we will get constructive feedback on how they want their areas policed."
The move comes as part of the city's Strategic Partnership, which has seen an 'e-panel' set up for further consultation.
There are already 400 e-consultees registered on the e-panel who are likely to follow the discussion.© DeHavilland Information Services plc
