A majority of Scottish mothers surveyed in a recent survey have said that broadband access in the home helps in running a family.

The survey by ISP UK Online revealed that 68 per cent thought that having a broadband connection "reduces household stress by lowering worries about the phone bill and who is using the phone, as well as the added benefit of saving time and money by shopping online," reports South Edinburgh Net.

It seems that Scottish school children are also leading the way in the digital revolution with 67 per cent of children in Glasgow regularly given homework that requires Internet access, a figure considerably higher than the national average.

Chris Stening, UK Online's general manager, commented, "I'm delighted that Scotland's mums are so switched on to the benefits of broadband, not only because it makes life easier, but also because of the huge benefits for their children's education."
