The Museum, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) has committed itself to helping promote digital accessibility throughout the European Union.

Last week the UK took over the presidency of the EU and the MLA wants accessibility to be a major issue during its tenure.

The MLA will be in attendance at the eEurope digitisation conference in Bristol on November 16th and 17th this year to push the accessibility forward.

"November will be an exciting month for all those involved in the digitisation of Europe's cultural heritage," said the MLA's David Dawson.

"The vision of the NRG, and that of MLA, is to develop a European cultural space on the internet, where end users will have quick and simple access to quality digital collections of museums, libraries and archives across Europe."© DeHavilland Information Services plc
