A new website providing quicker and easier access to information on the EU Parliament has been launched.
The new website will have updated news on parliament proceedings and presents its information in an easy-to-read format in 20 languages. The European Parliament president, Josep Borrell, explained that the website was developed with the aim of answering fundamental questions about the purpose of the parliament.
He hopes the revamped website will renew enthusiasm and participation in EU politics.
"At a time when our European project is seeking out a new vision for the future, a vision that encourages new hopes and means something to everyone, we are giving the public a new key to unlock the door of the European Parliament," he said in his speech at the website's launch.
The new website is being promoted with a large scale advertising campaign complete with specially made T-shirts, beer mats and a series of debates on the development of the Internet.
