Online verbal and numerical reasoning tests are improving the efficiency of UK's largest private sector recruiter of graduates.
Professional services firm, Deloitte, previously used to assess potential recruits with a 90-minute paper based psychometric test, before an interview with a line manager.
According to HR website, Personnel Today, the new 70-minute web based tests are being used by Deloitte as a more effective way to eliminate applicants at an initial pre-selection stage.
"By integrating online verbal and numerical reasoning tests into our graduate selection process, we have saved thousands of hours of interview time because line managers now only see candidates who have already passed the online assessments, " said Sally Whitman, a senior manager in the graduate recruitment team at Deloitte told Personnel Today.
Deloitte selects around 1,200 graduates and undergraduates a year from over ten thousand applicants, to work within its tax, audit, consulting and corporate finance businesses.
