The growing problem of the UK's reliance on landfills is being tackled by a new environmentally minded website.
The site allows members of the public to give away belongings originally destined for the tip.
Created by a non-profit organisation covering Coventry and Warwickshire, Action 21 is hoping its site will provide new homes for over 4,000 tonnes of unwanted items.
A whole array of household products from electrical goods, books, furniture and DVDs will be given away, completely free of charge.
It is hoped that the site will encourage people to start thinking about how they can further benefit the environment in their day-to-day lives.
"As well as saving quality goods from being thrown away in landfill, we are hoping the site, and its use, will begin to change attitudes to waste, bring additional convenience to recycling and help build community links," Jenny Sansom of Action 21 told the website 24dash.
"And, given the time of year, it might also help put unwanted Christmas presents to good use."
