The iPod has almost become the icon of today's society, a defining symbol of the current high-tech web surfing generation.

However, it seems despite the ubiquity of the music player, many are still a little in the dark about how they actually work.

In response to this, the top London department store, Selfridges has come up with the cunning idea of iPod tutorials.

For a mere £65, you can pop in to see a specialised tutor who will show you how to access the online music download bank, iTunes, create your own playlists and download podcasts.

And if you can't make it to London, the iPod experts will visit you at your house or place of work, although obviously this incurs additional costs.

News of these iPod lessons comes just a month after it was discovered that many people were actually struggling to fill their music pods, with the average person using just 58 per cent of the possible storage allowance.

But this hasn't stopped the irrepressible iPod, with Apple selling a record 14 million music players in the last financial quarter, according to the website, Vnunet.
