A new not-for-profit website is aiming to change the carbon footprints which Londoners leave behind.
Encouraging the city's dwellers to travel between the city's locations on foot, the new website aims to educate residents about walkways and paths, which may not be common knowledge, the BBC reports.
Jamie Wallace, the website's creator, explains: "The idea came from watching colleagues dive into the tube or taxis, while knowing that their destination was within easy walking distance.
"People do not realise how quick it can be walking from A to B, especially in central London."
Mr Wallace adds that by finding out the best way to walk between locations, the Internet user can lose weight and produce less environmentally harmful emissions.
Users can log on to the site, enter the desired postcodes or locations and be presented with useful paths, attractions along the way, in addition to calorie calculations.
Transport for London recently announced that it would be creating a new website designed to help travellers in the city centre to make informed decisions about the best routes, Publictechnology.net reported.
