Lewes District Council is hoping that residents will now have easier access to services, following the installation of two new e-government kiosks.

The AccessPoint kiosks, which have been placed at stores in Newhaven and Newick, are designed to provide a wealth of advice and information on health, leisure, safety, travel, social issues, employment and council services.

Internet users can also use the e-government access points to send and receive emails.

The Access East Sussex online portal also provides an exhaustive list of all local services, such as children's homes and waste management.

John Clark, head of business services at Lewes District Council, said: "This is an excellent example of partnership working between local councils.

"The kiosks will make it easier for residents to find the information they want at the touch of a screen and help increase access to services for people who don’t have Internet at home."
