Dairy farmers could find that their business improves after the Milk Development Council has revamped its website.
The milk benchmarking website, Milkbench, which allows farmers to compare their working methods in a bid to boost efficiency, cut costs and find areas of best practice, has been improved, Farmers Weekly reports.
Farmers are now able to enter business details, such as produce, cattle numbers and land area, with the online service able to provide them with a benchmarking evaluation.
This then creates a graph, comparing the farm with the top and bottom ten per cent of the industry.
Michael James, Milkbench manager, commented: "Farmers have less time than ever so we tried to make the system even easier."
"Farmers can see how their business is performing and see which areas they need to focus on."
Brian Jones, a dairy farmer from Carmarthenshire, added: "Using the system we highlighted the problem areas and saved ourselves a lot of money."
Milkbench states that it is the UK's only fully independent and confidential online system for this purpose.
