Accessibility will become a more integral part of future e-learning initiatives, one expert has claimed.
Dave Boggs, chief executive of US e-learning specialist Syberworks, made the comments as his organisation prepares to launch a special focus on accessibility.
The company has recently created a series of podcasts on the theme of e-learning accessibility, which will cover various elements, including the legal implications of inaccessible sites.
Mr Boggs claimed that recent court action by the National Federation of the Blind against US retailer Target, the announcement of PAS 78 guidelines in the UK and a number of other accessibility developments have all raised the topic's profile.
"The issue of e-learning accessibility will grow in importance over the next few years," he remarked.
Syberworks provides organisations with customised online training and management solutions, ranging from virtual classrooms to integrated web conferencing.
