The gallery has further embraced the world of the Internet with a series of artworks that try and combine art with online technology.

The latest piece of "net art" is to be lauched on February 14th and also has a Valentine's Day theme.

Called The Dumpster, the work is a visualisation using web journals and tracing the tumultuous romantic life of teenagers in 2005.

The Tate Online has won two interactive Baftas for its online content and received over seven million unique visitors last year, making it one of the most popular art websites in the UK.
