To commemorate The Queen's 80th birthday, a special website has been launched today.

The website offers visitors interactive picture galleries providing a virtual tour of the Queen's life, plus a range of archive material such as birth certificates and letters.

Users can also send birthday greetings to the Queen via the website, as well as test their royal knowledge with an online quiz.

The Queen turns 80 on April 21st although she will also be celebrating her official birthday on June 17th.

The website is just one of the ways the monarch's birthday is being marked, with a timeline also being launched today.

Mainly produced for schools, this two-metre wall chart depicts the various historic events that have occurred during the last 80 years.
