New online resources for people coping with learning disabilities have been launched by Sheffield City Council.
The new site is called signposts sheffield and aims to assist people with learning difficulties as well as their families, friends and carers access information about available services from the council and Sheffield's care trust.
Many of the website's features have been designed to be as accessible as possible for users, with clear understandable pictures being used to highlight certain information, and larger text making it quick and easy to find the relevant webpage.
It also features Browse Aloud technology that provides spoken versions of what is written on the webpage, which is ideal for people struggling with sight or reading problems.
Councillor Mick Rooney has praised the design of the new website.
"We are constantly looking at better ways of helping all of our service users access the help, information and advice that they need and I hope that a great many adults with learning disabilities will benefit from this new facility," he said.
