A new website has been created allowing users to work out how nutritious a meal at McDonald's is.
The digital agency Ralph has developed an online nutrition calculator on the McDonald's website, where visitors can work out their diet requirements and then compare them to the McDonald's menu choices.
For instance, users can calculate their recommended daily allowances for fat, calories or salt, based on their age, weight and level of exercise. They then can see how something such as a cheeseburger or chicken nuggets would impact on these daily allowances.
The website is based on Java solutions using technologies such as CSS and XML, implemented within a fundamentally flash-based site.
Currently the site can be read in English, Italian and French, but a multi-lingual version will be accessible across Europe later in 2006.
According to the website Netimperative, Ralph has also developed a touch screen kiosk version of the website, which was showcased at the Turin Winter Olympics.
