Pupils from schools across Coventry and Warwickshire are competing against each other to build an award-winning website.
The competition has been organised by the Coventry branch of the British Computer Society (BCS) and will see students from nine different schools in the area developing their website either in after-school meetings or as part of their school curriculum.
The sites will be judged on their creativity, innovation and how the pupils worked together as a team.
Competition winners will be will given IT equipment for their school as well as their own certificates.
The closing date for the BCS website challenge is the end of April and the awards will be handed out on July 5th 2006.
Irene Glendinning from the BCS Coventry branch hopes the competition will be a way of rewarding both students and teachers for their creative endeavours in their use of Internet technology.
"Furthermore, success may encourage students to consider a career in the computer industry which is vital to the continuing success of the profession," she concluded.
