A website that provides real time information on traffic conditions and bus routes in Brighton and Hove has been shortlisted for an award.
The site is in the running for the Institute of Highways and Transportation technological application award, which is given in recognition of the successful use of technology within the highways and transport industry.
The website complements the real time information signs at bus stops and also features an interactive map displaying all the bus stops in the city and regularly updates with information on car parking spaces, road works and traffic congestion.
Councillor Craig Turton said the website is performing an important service to users of public transport in the city.
"By getting up to date, accurate information, it is much easier to plan your journey. Investing in the latest technology has made a real difference to the person in the street waiting for a bus and more people are using the service as a result,"he said.
The winners of the award will be revealed on May 16th 2006 at an awards ceremony to be held at London's Science Museum.
