The news website for BBC Scotland has been revamped to better reflect the needs of people in all regions of the country.

News from the various regions including Glasgow and the west, the Highlands and Islands and Edinburgh and the east, will be features on six new sections on the site.

A journalist dedicated to reporting solely from their particular region will maintain the new sections.

People can access the new sections via the current news page for Scotland as well as on mobiles enable with WAP and PDAs.

The editor of the new site Mark Coyle explains that the changes are part of the BBC's attempt to offer more "on demand" content for the public, allowing them to get news when they need it rather than that fixed times.
