An online scheme to help improve the lives of youngsters in Wealden, East Sussex, has been launched.
The new website, Wealden4Youth, was created by Wealden District Council but a number of young people from the area helped to form its design and structure, in particular students from Hailsham Community College.
It offers information on a range of themes and subjects such as health and safety, activities for young people and looking to the future, with tips about job interviews, part-time work and housing.
The website also gives advice on issues that can negatively affect young people, including bullying, internet abuse, credit cards, smoking, drugs and sex and there is a problem page where youngsters can have their anonymous questions answered by people from public support agencies.
Over the last few months the website has been partly available while the last sections were being created and there have already been thousands of users. Its official launch will take place on Friday April 28th.
Margaret Kirkpatrick, the Wealden Cabinet member for housing and community development, said: "Wealden4Youth is a great way of offering advice and information for young people living, working or studying in the area.
"We hope in time that many local organisations and agencies will use the site to communicate with young people in the district."
