An online discussion forum which was set up for people with an interest in local government is available again following its closure during the local government election period.
The forum, which was originally started in March this year and is available at www.localvisionforum.net, enables people to comment and debate with others on a range of issues, including those that could be included in the forthcoming local government white paper.
It is now operated by the recently created Department for Communities and Local Government and a new topic of cities and towns has been added.
Forum users are invited to give their views on how economic and social changes can be made by local councils to increase investment and economic growth in towns and cities and develop sustainable communities.
Among the other subjects that can debated once again are how much local government reform is needed, how best to improve local strategic partnerships and how communities can make a valuable contribution to the development of local public services.
