A detailed and easy-to-use information service on each ward in Newcastle-upon-Tyne has been launched on Newcastle City Council's website.
The Ward Postcode Search section will inform residents about the latest events and issues in their local area, such as planning and licensing applications, community group meetings and dealing with problems like blocked street drains and potholes.
They can get details of ward committee meetings where they can raise their points about how the council is running services in the area.
However, if they are unable to attend a particular meeting, residents can fill out a local issues form online, which will be sent to neighbourhood response managers.
Councillor David Faulkner, deputy leader of the council, said: "Local people are more and more able to have their say about what they think should happen in their community through ward committees with greater powers and budgets and by helping to create plans for each ward and neighbourhood.
"Ward websites are a first step in this process by making it easier for people to access local information."
