A website launched for users to swap books online has nearly seen 50,000 titles exchanged.
The website, www.readitswapit.com, currently has more than 40,000 books up for grabs and is designed for avid readers who don't want to splash out to expand their mind and their bookshelves.
There is no cost to use the site; users will only incur the fee of sending the book second class to its new owner, at around 88p.
Andrew Bathgate, the inventor of the site, told Isle of Man Today: "'I was spending a lot on books and running out of space to store them, so I came up with the idea for ReadItSwapIt."
"It means each book you purchase has an unlimited life cycle as every book you finish you can immediately swap for another book,' he explains.
The site's organisers claim that "every user gets a book they really want", as the site enables them to simply refuse to swap if they are not interested.
