A new framework may make it easier for agencies to get support to vulnerable families, children and citizens.

Multi-agency teams, such as those employed in child care and social services, are groups of separate organisations used to ensure that a network of support is in place for those that need it.

An example of this is the homeless families multi-agency team, which allows separate entities such as social services, the NHS, education and housing, to work together to achieve the best result.

A new computer system, the Framework for Multi-Agency Environments (FAME), is designed to help the digital accessibility of information and communication.

The system is already being used to support the development of the national 101 Single Non-Emergency Number, which is a brand-new non-emergency service number for citizens, targeted at relieving the pressure on 999 emergency calls.

It does this by providing 24-hour access to police and local authority call centres, where residents can get action and advice on community safety and anti-social behaviour related issues.
