Experts hope that a new online system will make the GCSE results process quicker and easier.
Edexcel, the examinations body, are testing the scheme initially for around 200 children, who will be able to log onto the Internet and view their maths results.
It is expected that more subjects, involving more pupils, will be able to use the website next year if the trial is successful.
The children who have volunteered for the programme are able to view their individual exam paper scores and overall grade on the Internet.
Each participant will also be provided with a personalised "skills map", which gives them an indication of their strengths and weaknesses in the subject.
Sue Wells, examinations administrator at St Swithun's School in Winchester, claims that the online results improve efficiency of the system.
"It is brilliant being able to access scripts so quickly that have been marked onscreen," she said.
All students taking part in GCSEs can currently view results-day information and advice on Edexcel's website.
