The British Potato Council has launched a new e-newsletter designed to improve subscribers' knowledge of current industry developments.

By taking users either back to its own website or to third-party Internet sites, the council hopes that the monthly service will increase users' own revenue by keeping them informed of specific research developments, reports the freshinfo website.

Speaking to freshinifo, Rob Clayton, knowledge transfer manager for the council, said: "Recent reviews and feedback suggest that, while growers are aware this information is available, they are not always able to find it quickly.

"The new service should achieve this – there are links contained in the newsletter that go directly to the BPC website where you can find more information on a particular topic."

The British Potato Council is a non-departmental public body funded by both potato growers and trade purchases dedicated to the promotion of potatoes grown in Great Britain.
