The Internet will become "the central cornerstone of the company of the future", according to an expert at WebEx.
Business possibilities to be created by using the Internet will be "truly remarkable", claimed Bert Van Der Zwan, the company's vice president, EMEA.
Mr Van Der Zwan commented in the wake of recent Office of Communications figures which show that around ten million UK households now have high-speed, continuous connection to the Internet.
Businesses are increasingly reliant on the Internet, for services such as email, marketing and e-commerce – which save time, resource, money and increase productivity, the expert asserted.
"The possibilities that the next generation Internet has opened up are truly remarkable, and it is no wonder that the business world is looking again at the world wide web with renewed awe," he remarked.
"The web will continue to evolve as a business tool - one that as the technology continues to get smarter, looks set to become the central cornerstone of the company of the future."
Mr Van Der Zwan has over 20 years of senior management experience in the European technology market.
