A new website will be launched in Hounslow, aiming to provide teenagers with vital information and advice.

Set to become available on September 16th 2006, the Hounslow Connexions website will be free to use and entirely confidential.

Information on issues such as leisure, health, housing, learning, money, legal rights, sex and personal relationships will be available to 13 to 19-year-olds living and working in the borough.

Lesley Hunter, manager of Hounslow Connexions, said that the Internet is an ideal medium for providing young people with support.

"Many young people use the Internet as part of their everyday life, so having information and advice online means they can get it in a way that they want," said Ms Hunter.

"It also means that if someone has a question they might not feel comfortable talking to someone about, they can find out more before making a decision."

The site will also feature podcasts by young people, discussing their experience of the Connexions service.

Connexions states that its aim is to help engage young people in their lives and help them to fulfil their potential as they become adults.
